WATCH/ICYMI: Scott Berry one-on-one interview on “Audibles”

Season 4 of “Audibles with Jason Scarborough” continued blazing down the rails this weekend, with episode 7 airing up on TV stations all across the Magnolia State.

Episode 7 features Southern Mississippi head baseball coach Scott Berry, who as of April has won 500 games at USM and is now the all-time winningest coach in Golden Eagle baseball history, passing the great Hill Denson and Berry’s late mentor, Corky Palmer. Berry has taken the Golden Eagles to the postseason six straight seasons, going to the College World Series in 2009 as Palmer’s assistant.

Born in Neosho, Missouri, Berry was a 3-sport athlete in high school before embarking on his collegiate playing career. Due to back injuries, Berry was forced to end his playing career and began pursuing a career in coaching.

After stops at Southwest Missouri State as a student assistant and an assistant coach at Meridian Community College, Berry then succeeded his mentor and best friend, Corky Palmer, at Southern Miss. Berry hasn’t missed a beat, winning conference championships, taking USM to the postseason nearly every season, winning multiple conference coach of the year honors, and expanding the footprint of the Golden Eagle fanbase every season.

You don’t wanna miss this candid one-on-one with one of the greatest to ever do it on Mississippi soil, Scott Berry.
