THROWBACK THURSDAY: 1980 Egg Bowl Flashback

As we take our journey down memory lane this week with some of the more memorable Egg Bowl games in the series, we focus today on the 1980 Egg Bowl matchup.

The 1980 Mississippi State squad, led by quarterback John Bond and wide receiver Davis Ellis, are most known in that 1980 season for defeating #1 Alabama and Bear Bryant in at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldogs defeated Ole Miss 19-14 in the Battle for the Golden Egg, also played at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson.

Relive the moments here, as the late great Voice of the Bulldogs, Jack Cristil, narrates the highlights.
