#23 Mississippi State picked up its 3rd consecutive win with a convincing 40-17 victory over #25 Arkansas. The Bulldogs struck early with a pair of 1st-quarter touchdowns, scored the game’s first 21 points and led by at least two scores for most of the day.

MSU quarterback Will Rogers threw for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns. Along the way, the junior signal caller also set a new Southeastern Conference career record for completions. While Rogers’ had a big day through the air, running back Dillon Johnson paced State on the ground. Johnson became the first MSU running back to rack up 100 or more yards rushing in a game under Mike Leach. Johnson finished with exactly 100 yards and found the end zone twice. The Bulldogs also finished with their highest single-game team rushing total of the Leach era with 173 yards.

Defensively, Jett Johnson led the Bulldogs with 11 tackles. Tyrus Wheat and Jack Harris both had sacks, while Jackie Matthews and Emmanuel Forbes each had interceptions.

Next up for the Bulldogs: Mississippi State heads back on the road as the Bulldogs travel to Kentucky to face the Wildcats. Kickoff at Kroger Field in Lexington is scheduled for 6:30 PM CT on Saturday, October 15th. The game is set to be televised by SEC Network.
