Mississippi State battled back from two-score deficits on two different occasions, but ultimately fell 31-28 on the road at Arkansas.
MSU quarterback Will Rogers connected with running back Jo’quavious Marks on a 15-yard touchdown pass with just 2:22 left to put the Bulldogs up 28-23, but the Razorbacks responded with a 10-play, 75-yard scoring drive that accounted for the game’s winning points. The Bulldogs had a shot to tie the game in the final seconds, but kicker Nolan McCord’s 40-yard field goal try was no good.
Rogers finished the game completing 36 of his 48 passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns. For the season, Rogers cracked the 3,000-yard mark. Rogers is only the second quarterback in MSU history to pass for more than 3,000 yards in a single season. Rogers joined Dak Prescott, who accomplished the feat twice.
