Landon Sims struck out 4 in 3 innings of scoreless relief for his 9th save, and #7 overall seed Mississippi State clinched its fifth straight trip to the super regionals with a 6-5 victory over Campbell on Monday.
Mississippi State (43-15), which has won 10 straight NCAA regional games, will host Notre Dame this weekend. Tanner Allen’s 269th career hit in the 9th now moves him up the career hits list in Starkville, passing Rafael Palmeiro for 10th on the Bulldogs list.
