Mississippi State’s men’s basketball team set the tone on the defensive end en route to a 69-48 rout and a regular season sweep over South Carolina on Wednesday at Humphrey Coliseum. Over the team’s last 4 victories, the Bulldogs have limited their opponents to 54.8 points per game and a 32.9 shooting percentage.
DJ Stewart Jr. provided 14 of his team-leading 15 points during the 1st half. He also dished out with 5 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds. Mississippi State’s bigs dominated the paint and amassed a 49-24 rebounding advantage.
Abdul Ado dialed up 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Tolu Smith came away with 9 points and 13 rebounds to nearly collect his 8th double-double on the season.
