After playing a postseason game in each of the last 12 seasons, Mississippi State is bowl eligible once again following a 39-33 overtime victory over Auburn on Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium. Jo’quavious Marks punched in the game-winning score for the Bulldogs with a 5-yard run in the extra period. Marks’ touchdown put a lid on a wild night in Starkville.

Mississippi State controlled the game in its early stages. The Bulldogs built a 24-3 lead for themselves by the middle of the second quarter and were ahead 24-6 at halftime. However, Auburn scored 22 unanswered points and took a 25-24 lead with 6:36 left in regulation. The two teams then traded touchdowns down the stretch with the Tigers also converting a two-point conversion to go up 33-30 with 1:05 left on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Mississippi State plays at home for a second straight week next week, hosting Georgia on Saturday, November 12th with a 6PM kickoff scheduled on ESPN.
