Season 4 of “Audibles with Jason Scarborough” is rapidly approaching our season finale, as we welcome episode 9 to our TV affiliates all across Mississippi this weekend.
Episode 9 features former Southern Miss and Denver Broncos great, Sammy Winder. Winder played on some of the most memorable and most notable USM football teams, and played in 3 Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos while in the NFL.
Raised in Madison, MS on a farm, Winder learned the value of hard work early on in life. And it was the competition with his brother that fueled him to give football a try.
Winder then walked on at Southern Miss, and eventually led the nation in touchdowns his junior season, and amassed over 3,000 career rushing yards and 39 touchdowns during his time in Hattiesburg, both school records.
Winder was then drafted by the Denver Broncos and played for the late and legendary head coach, Dan Reeves. During his 9 years in the NFL and with Denver, Winder played with NFL Hall of Famer John Elway, was a 2-time Pro Bowl selection and played in 3 Super Bowls.
Known for his signature “Mississippi Mud Walk” when he scored a TD, Winder is still revered as one of the best and most well liked Denver Broncos of all time.
Hear the former NFL and college football great tell his story, in his own words, in this exclusive interview you don’t want to miss.
