Season 4 of “Audibles with Jason Scarborough” continued this past weekend with another new and original episode, with EP 8 airing all across Mississippi.

Episode 8 features former Mississippi State head men’s basketball coach, Richard Williams, who led the Bulldogs to the 1996 Final Four-the school’s first and at that time the first for the state of Mississippi.

Born in California to a Mississippi native father who was stationed there at the time, later raised in Rankin County, Williams’ passion for coaching actually began with his first love-baseball.

Williams began coaching basketball purely by accident, but found he was a natural floor general, ascending up the coaching ranks in high school and JUCO.

Williams was named head coach for MSU men’s basketball in 1986, and resurrected a basketball program to new heights that had never been experienced before, winning the SEC West in back to back seasons, taking the team to the NCAA Tournament also in back to back seasons, and culminating with a trip to the 1996 Final Four.

The 2-time SEC Coach of the Year tells his story, in his own words, in this candid one-on-one you don’t want to miss.
