Coming up this weekend, our 9th episode of Season 6 features a bucket list guest for me-former college football coach and radio legend Max Howell.
Hear Coach Howell tell his story, in his own words, in a one on one you don’t wanna miss. Hear his journey as a college football player and what it was like to be recruited by the great Bear Bryant, his experience coaching the great Emmitt Smith in high school, and his interaction with Deion Sanders in college at Florida State. Also hear his memories as the first sports talk radio show host in the large media market of Atlanta, GA, and the journey that his radio and media career took him on.
For a young man growing up in Brandon, MS and working at the Rankin County News at the time, listening to Coach Howell on his radio show “Conference Call” on the way home from work everyday, was one of the motivating factors in pursuing what I’m doing now. For me, Coach Howell’s influence was great early on in life. Now, to call him a friend and feature him on our show is a bucket list item.
