WATCH: TOMAHAWKED: Seminoles hit three bombs to overcome Southern Miss in opening round in Oxford

The Florida State baseball team has definitely lived and died by the home run this season. So it’s not surprising that this was the case for the Seminoles in their NCAA Tournament opener in the Oxford Regional Friday afternoon.

The #3 seed Seminoles managed just 7 hits against #2 seed Southern Miss. The good news for the Seminoles was that three of them were home runs. Behind 6th-inning homers from 3rd baseman Logan Lacey and Elijah Cabell and an 8th-inning bomb from catcher Matheu Nelson, the Seminoles (31-22, 20-16 in ACC) rallied to beat the Golden Eagles (37-20, 22-9 in Conference USA) 5-2 at Oxford-University Stadium Friday afternoon.

Seminoles head baseball coach Mike Martin, Jr. along with Logan Lacey and Parker Messick met with the media postgame to discuss the win. Hear what they had to say right here. Video is courtesy of Ole Miss Athletics.
